Skill Traits of an ABC Kaiila:

  • The ABC Kaiila receives a Genetic QL at birth. This is based upon its skill traits in Speed, Stamina, and Sprint.

  • The Kaiila is bred for the flat race. (Racing stock in ABC are bred for certain races, flat, steeple chase, surrey, etc.)

  • Gorean style racing is not flat. Goreans would have logs or elevations that need to be jumped.

  • Our tracks are raced more like the steeple chase, with the need for jumping.

  • We will use the skill traits assigned to their breed in order to classify the ABC Kaiila, and then race them Gorean Style.

We race in two categories.

  • Cat A are Kaiila that have a training QL of 5.

  • Cat B are Kaiila that have a training QL of 3.

  • All kaiila must be trained to 50% of their Generic Skill Number in stamina.

  • Any number is allowed in jump.

  • A racer needs to understand how those QL levels are computed in order to decide what combination of skill trait numbers would produce a winning Kaiila for him or her.

How the QL index is calculated:

  • The Kaiila skill traits (the “Flat Race” skill traits) are speed, stamina, and sprint.

  • Each trait is weighted.

  • The Kaiila’s Index is the summed total of the weighted values, which is compared to the QL Index chart.

These are the weighted values in flat racing:

  • Speed points x .55 =

  • Stamina points x .40 =

  • Sprint points x .05 =

These three numbers are summed and compared to the Genetic or Trained QL Chart:

  • QL 1:  1 through 25.95

  • QL 2:  26 through 40.95

  • QL 3:  41 through 55.95

  • QL 4:  56 through 70.95

  • QL 5:  71 through 85.95

  • QL 6:  86 through 100.

  • Jump is not part of the equation, so training in jump is free.

It is important in buying and training Kaiila to understand what numbers would work best, what combination of Speed, Stamina, Sprint and Jump is the best in your opinion. While jump is not calculated into the Index, you will need jump numbers in order to be successful on our tracks. I suggest that 40 in jump is a minimum although winning Kaiila usually have 100 in jump.

No matter what you purchase or breed, your Kaiila will have a set of Genetic Trait Numbers and a Genetic QL that is the potential of that kaiila's training ability. You cannot train a kaiila beyond that potential. It might be your decision to get a kaiila with high potential so that you can pick and choose which skill trait to emphasize.

Once a Kaiila becomes a pet (at Day 141), those original numbers are fixed and cannot be changed. It should be noted that when a kaiila turns into a pet, the result may be unpredictable and a speed of 60 may race faster than one of 90 or vice versa.

Here are some examples of the trained Kaiila Skill Traits:

**Some example QL3 stat numbers within the QL3 range of 41 through 55.99:

Speed     Stamina     Sprint     Index
80              26            20          55.4
72              36            36          55.8
65              43            48          55.35

**Some example QL5 stat numbers within the QL5 range of 71 through 85.99:

Speed       Stamina     Sprint      Index

100             69              60         85.6
95               72              90         85.55
90               80              80         85.5

**These are numbers I just made up that fall within the ranges for a QL 3 and a QL 5. You can see that a racer can choose to train any combination as long as the Index gets the Skill Trait QL level he needs or wants, and that the stamina is at least 50% of the skill cap.
